Dr. Tracy Page, the founder of the Wisconsin Institute of Functional Medicine, possesses a triple board certification, including from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. As a recognized physician on weight loss and anti-aging strategies and treatments, she has over ten years of experience in bioidentical hormone therapy, metabolic/cellular medicine, human performance optimization, and sports medicine. We always talk to our patients about the process behind losing weight—and this is what you can expect when you decide to partner with the Wisconsin Institute of Functional Medicine on your weight loss journey.

Yes, it is common to be focused on a number; however, Dr. Page believes there is more to it than just what the scale is displaying in order to make weight loss permanent. If you are 200 pounds, it is true that your goal may be to get down to 135 lbs.—and it is the space between 200 and 135 where all of the learning and education takes place. If this education is not developed, then there is no way to make that weight loss permanent.

This is why the weight loss process is so important to Dr. Page and why she believes that prescribing a “magic pill” or other medication for weight loss isn’t the only answer. Some may require assistance with medication, but developing healthy habits is key to long-term success.

    Medicine and supplements are not guaranteed when pursuing medical weight loss at the Wisconsin Institute of Functional Medicine. Dr. Page is not a believer in popping a pill to get results and prefers instead to coach and educate her patients in their weight loss journey, so the results are permanent, safe, and effective. She places considerable emphasis on nutrition, diet, and other lifestyle changes that could be contributing to your weight gain.

    However, if it is discovered that medicine or supplements are needed to boost metabolism, improve longevity, or reduce hunger, then you will receive the added benefit of medically proven medicine(s) or supplements(s).
